Unlock iPhone 3G
Unlocking and Activating Iphone. Supports Iphone 3g
Before starting this guide, please make sure, you have the essential softwares and files needed.
The Software:
QuickPwn2.1
You would need .net framework 2.0 or above for this software to work.
Click here to download dotnet framework.
The Bootloaders:
Download zip containing BL 3.9 and 4.6 from here or here or 3.9 and 4.6.
If you want to backup your phone:
- Open iTunes
- Go to Edit->Preferences
- Remove the last backup.
- Press OK and exit Preferences
- Sync your iPhone.
That’s it. You now have a fresh backup of your iPhone. Have fun.

1. Please make sure you are already running the firmware on your iPhone that you want to jailbreak.
In case you are not, and have not previously jailbroken, just upgrade from iTunes.

2. Download QuickPwn and extract it to c:\quickpwn. Download the bootloaders and put them in same folder.
3. Load iTunes and make sure it finds your phone. Leave iTunes running and do not touch it again. For 2.1, you will need iTunes 8 installed.
4. Download the proper firmware image among 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 , whichever you are currently on (after upgrade). Save this image in the same folder with the quickpwn.exe file.
5. Launch quickpwn GUI.
6. Select your device and hit the arrow at the bottom of the window.
7. Click Browse. Select your firmware
Click the Blue arrow
8. Select Cydia, not Installer. Select Unlock if you want to Unlock. If you are Unlocking, Select replace bootloaders.
Jailbreaking is the process of opening the phone up for installation of 3rd party apps.
Unlocking is the process of allowing non-approved SIM cards to be used on your phone. If you have an approved provider, you only need to jailbreak your phone, not unlock your phone.
If you are not unlocking, skip to step 9.
9. You will see a screen like below. Just click the blue arrow
10. Wait. You will see some stuff go by on the screen:
Then you will be prompted to turn off your phone but DON’T press enter when
you have done so:
11. Turn off your phone by holding power, sliding to power off, and waiting for it to power off. Do not take the phone off the pc connection! If you do, you must start over.
Note: If you are being asked “Is your iPhone/iPod connected to your computer via USB?” it is because you did not load iTunes and let it see your phone before starting. At this point it’s too late and you must start start back at step 8. DON’T PRESS ENTER AFTER YOU ARE DONE
12. Now we need to get into DFU mode for the next part.
In case you had pressed ENTER before getting into DFU mode. Follow the onscreen instructions or try the instructions above. The program will help you through the steps but it often takes multiple attempts to get into DFU mode.
And, if you fail to get into DFU mode, the app quits and you must start over at step 8.(Only if you had pressed enter).
When you are in DFU mode, the app should automatically take over and you will see this:
Wait a bit for the process to finish, and congratulations! You are done
13.Optional 2g phone only. If you need to unlock your phone, install bootneuter from Cydia and run it! Select “neuter, unlock, do not change bootloader settings, and then flash!”.
