Apple’s iphone Christmas and New Year Offer

The Festival season begins!! So are you looking for iPhone for Christmas as present ? What about iPhone Christmas offer or iPhone Christmas discounts ?

Though Christmas and New year are close, the regular Discounts and Sale’s are missing to a certain extent. What with the economic crisis, and global meltdown syndrome, things in this Festive season are not looking too bright. Deals are hard to come by, so i will try to find some that are there!!

With iPhone price being mainly decided by APPLE, discounts need to come from there. But this time there haven’t been any discounts on iPhone, and none are expected too.

I checked out AT&T’s website recently and well the only option available is $199 for 8GB and $299 for 16GB iPhones with 2 year contract.

In case of O2 in UK, its available free.
Not exactly though. In case of 8GB ,you can get it free, by subscribing for £45, £75 for 18 months minimum
or for £99, by subscribing for £35, £30 for 18 months minimum

In case of 16GB ,you can get it free, by subscribing for £75 for 18 months minimum
or for £59, by subscribing for £45, £30 for 18 months minimum
or for £159, by subscribing for £35, £30 for 18 months minimum
If you are not willing to burdened every month, pay £350 or £400, for 8GB and 16GB versions.

So, what’s Apple’s Christmas Gift then?

There is much talk of Apple tying up with Wal-Mart . Though the dates being mentioned are 28th December, 3 days after Christmas, it will still be in time for New Year. It is expected that Apple will start with select Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club outlets on Dec. 28, and eventually roll the iPhone out to 2,500 Wal-Mart owned stores.

Also there is much hype, about a proposed iPhone Nano, to be launched soon. It is expected to retail at around $300 in US and £150 in UK ( pay-as-you-go)
The specifications, doing the round are, a smaller 2.75″ screen , no Internet access, multi-touch and combines a phone and music player in one device but will only ship with either 4 or 8 Gigabytes of Ram compared to the 8 or 16 Gigabytes of the classic iPhone.

Also there is talk of 32GB iPhones early next year. 32GB is a technological barrier in some sense for the iPhone. In today’s world of 1TB drives, it doesn’t take long for us to fill up 16GB worth of songs and videos and apps on iPhones, so 32GB is but the next foregone conclusion in expansion’s of iPhones. Still
what matters is when it would become a reality, and judging by the reports there are talks, it might be early next year.

And there are rumours about the iPhone HD. With iPhone HD , Apple may aim to offer best HD quality services with more screen resolution and higher densities. Even now, HD services work just about ok on iPhones.

So what can we expect the next Christmas season, a HD iPhone with 32 ( possibly 64 GB ), running firmware 3.0, with 802.11n for better HD streaming techniques.

On the other hand, Apple has unveiled some discounts, in other products like:

iMac: The three high-range versions have been discounted $101, the low-end has been discounted $51.

MacBook: The two new 13-inch versions are both $101 off, the older 13-inch (white) version is $51 off (making it $948).

iPod touch: All versions are $21 off — this makes the 8 GB version only $208.

iPod classic: Both versions are getting $21 off.

iPod nano: Both versions are now $11 cheaper. (Ho-hum.)

Apple TV: Both versions are now $21 cheaper — this makes the entry level version
$208.

With Apple no giving out Christmas present to users, other competitors want to utilize this opportunity to the maximum. Vodafone would be exclusively bringing out the new Blackberry Storm, the first touchscreen phone made by the mobile email specialist BlackBerry, in time for Christmas.

Storm is also available for $200 with a contract here. The BlackBerry Storm will be free for anyone willing to sign up with Vodafone to a £35-a-month contract. A pre-pay version is also being planned.
The device is aimed squarely at consumers rather than the corporate market, which is already dominated by BlackBerry devices. It faces serious competition at Christmas from the Apple phone and two other recently announced touchscreen devices: the G1, which uses Google’s Android software and is exclusive to T-Mobile, and the 5800 XpressMusic from Nokia, which Orange confirmed last night it would be stocking, although it might not come out till Christmas.

The device seems to be cheaper than the G1, which is free on a £40-a-month deal, and the iPhone, which O2 gives away free with a £45-a-month contract. But T-Mobile and O2 tie in customers for only 18 months, while Vodafone is demanding that they sign up for two years.
And also coming is SONY’ s touch-screen mobile, supporting iPhone like hand touch, the XPERIA

It’s specifications are:

Size: 110.5 x 52.6 x 17.0 mm
Weight :158.0 g
Available colours: Solid Black, Steel Silver
Screen: 800 X 480, 65,536-colour TFT
Memory: Up to 400 MB Phone Memory, MicroSD which support upto 32GB
Camera - 3.2 MP, Digital Zoom - up to 3x, Video recording
GPS, Bluetooth, Google Maps, Microsoft Office® mobile, WiFi

So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
