Unlock iPhone 3G


Unlocking and Activating Iphone. Supports Iphone 3g

Before starting this guide, please make sure, you have the essential softwares and files needed.

The Software:
QuickPwn2.1

You would need .net framework 2.0 or above for this software to work.
Click here to download dotnet framework.

The Firmwares:
2.0.1
, 2.0.2.

The Bootloaders:
Download zip containing BL 3.9 and 4.6 from here or here or 3.9 and 4.6.

If you want to backup your phone:

  1. Open iTunes
  2. Go to Edit->Preferences
  3. Remove the last backup.
  4. Press OK and exit Preferences
  5. Sync your iPhone.

That’s it. You now have a fresh backup of your iPhone. Have fun.

1. Please make sure you are already running the firmware on your iPhone that you want to jailbreak.

In case you are not, and have not previously jailbroken, just upgrade from iTunes.

2. Download QuickPwn and extract it to c:\quickpwn. Download the bootloaders and put them in same folder.

3. Load iTunes and make sure it finds your phone. Leave iTunes running and do not touch it again. For 2.1, you will need iTunes 8 installed.

iPhone Firmware

iPhone OS or the iPhone Firmware is the piece of software that is running above the iPhone hardware and the capabilities of the the phone slightly differ across different version of Fimrware though the hardware capabilities are the same.
Apple officially releases FREE firmware upgrades which also includes security patches. In some cases the user might also need to downgrade the firmware versions for some applications to work.

How to check firmware version ?

On Unactivated Phones

  1. Switch ON your phone to display Emergency Calls Only Mode
  2. Dial *3001#12345#* and ‘Press Call’ to enter the ‘Field Test Mode
  3. Tap on Revisions
  4. The Firmware Revision that is preinstalled out of the box will show up.
  5. The table below shows the mapping between Firmware revision and the Firmware version.

NOTE: If you downgrade your firmware from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2, this 04.01.13_G value will not change. Be aware of this!

Google G1 v/s Apple Iphone 3G

Google G1, the much hyped Google phone, is finally out. It is the first ever phone to feature Google Android operating system - the T-Mobile G1. Its most significant factor is the easy integration with Internet. And its being called the “Iphone Killer” too. T-Mobile G1 features 3.2″ touchscreen, 480×320 resolution, and a QWERTY keyboard. The G1 phone, by High Tech Computer (HTC), contains Qualcomm MSM7201A processor at 528MHz and has 128MB of random access memory, 1GB of flash memory, global positioning system, microSD slot for memory cards, Wi-Fi controller, Bluetooth support, 3.1MP camera and so on.
